A minimalist and welcoming home, the Floating Altar #2 is an invitation to enjoy time with the ones you love—whether in front of the fireplace or gazing at the stars to the rhythm of the rippling water. Located in Legado das Águas, within the largest private Atlantic Forest reserve in Brazil, the Altar is a floating home experience based on an essential principle: using technology to allow you to disconnect from your cell phone and reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and the nature around you. Our home—or boat, as you prefer—is equipped with a full kitchen and a queen-size bed, ensuring comfort and convenience amidst nature. To complete the sensory experience, a vinyl collection and a record player are available to create the perfect soundtrack. The fireplace warms the room on cold days, while the Nebula projector and JBL speakers provide exclusive movie sessions, making every night unique. Outside, beyond the dam where Floating House #2 is anchored, there's a private deck with a barbecue, lounge chairs, and a parasol—an invitation to relax and enjoy the view. And, to explore beyond the walls of the house, Legado offers experiences such as trails, trips to the viewpoint, kayaking, rafting, stargazing, and birdwatching, connecting you even more with nature. Our refuge is immersed in the forest, in a place where time slows down and Mother Earth sets the pace. To ensure a relaxed and safe experience, we ask that you pay attention to a few points: check-in is scheduled for 1:00 PM, with a maximum grace period of 4:00 PM for arrival at Legado's base. After this time, we do not allow check-ins under any circumstances for safety reasons—the boat ride in the dark is dangerous. If you arrive after 4:00 PM, you will need to spend the night at Legado's guesthouse, at your own expense, and transportation to the house will be provided the following morning. Because we are located in an environmental reserve, it is essential to respect the local fauna and flora; therefore, pets are not allowed. Before staying, you will be required to sign a liability waiver. Because we are located far from urban centers, delivery is not possible. However, we provide some basic items for your convenience: filtered coffee, olive oil, granola, various spices, salt, sugar, and infused teas. Guests should bring their own. To avoid overloading the system, the use of appliances such as hair dryers, straighteners, air fryers, or irons is not permitted—here, energy is focused on the essentials and the quiet that recharges. We also ask that the space be kept tidy and that dishes be washed; if the house is left very dirty and/or with dishes to be washed, an additional cleaning fee of R$200.00 will be charged. Access to the refuge includes 26 km of dirt road. Rain and mud can be part of the journey—and this, too, is nature in motion. We recommend using a 4x4 vehicle, especially on rainy days, to ensure a smooth journey to your destination. Mother Earth is amazing.
