The Juma was built on stilts, on firm land, on the shores of Lake Juma. The Juma Opera is a high-end historical boutique hotel opened in 2020. It is located in the center of Manaus, in front of the Amazonas Opera House, the tourist hotspot of the city. The hotel is also located nearby the Palace of Justice and the Church of St. Sebastian, another architectural jewel contemporary with the Opera House, both dating from the late 19th century. Designed by the renowned architect Roberto Vinograd, the hotel facade harmonizes with the historical buildings of the square. Part of the construction is also from the same Belle Époque period and accredited by the "Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional (IPHAN)". At the beginning of the 20th century, Theodore Roosevelt during his Amazon expedition with Marshall Rondon was a guest at the house, then the American Consulate. With 41 spacious rooms, the Juma Opera prioritizes comfort. Rooms have been decorated by the award-winning architect Débora Aguiar and all have acoustic treatment on their doors, walls and windows, most of which have a direct view to the Amazonas Opera House (all the wiring in the front of the hotel has been removed and put underground). In line with sustainable practices, the hot water in the bathrooms is heated using solar energy. The centenary architecture of part of the hotel, mixed with modern buildings, has resulted in unique, exclusive and differentiated rooms. They are specified in 10 categories and they differ from each other in size, location, view, type of floor, balcony and bathroom (with or without a bathtub). From the Premium category, all rooms have views of the Amazonas Opera House.
