The legend that the Portuguese navigator João Fernandes used the beach as a strategic point to defend itself from the frequent attacks of Indians and corsairs. One day, as he admired the slope the reflection of the sunset over the clear waters of that sea, he had the vision of a Bahia color of gold, of a single yellow and gleaming. At that moment, he was sure he defended a jewel in a paradise, calm and transparent waters. Today, in times of peace, the place keeps two memories that go back their history: the beach of clear waters, which takes the name of the Portuguese defender, João Fernandes, and the Pousada Bahiamarela, who recalls the paradise vision glimpsed by the navigator.
