The hotels network has reached the states of the southern region of the country. Created by the Ipiranga Group focused on Rio Grande do Sul inaugurating in Rio Grande in the mid-1960s, the Hotel Charrua Rio Grande. In 1970 the network decides to expand its structure by passing its capacity of 90 apartments for 156 apartments. In the 1980s the Ipiranga group was disinterested by diversification and focused on oil activities. The last hotel of the Charrua Network, the "Charua Rio Grande Hotel" was sold to the Guanabara Group, in 90. From the year 2000 it replaced the brand pluna to call the Hotel Atlântico Rio Grande and Hotel Atlântico Beach.
