A true Ecological Sanctuary, located in an Environmental Protection Area, surrounding the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located 8 km from the famous village of São Jorge, in a region called Grota Funda, in the São Miguel River Valley. Toca do Guará is the ideal place for people seeking peace and quiet, who want to be close to nature and bathe in the crystal clear and medicinal waters of the São Miguel River. Much more than just a place to stay, Toca do Guará is a true experience of integration and respect for nature. A simple and charming place, where it is possible to observe nature and prioritize a more sustainable life, taking advantage of the natural resources it provides us. Here we follow the principles of Permaculture and apply sustainable technologies such as organic gardens, bioconstructions, solar energy, dry toilets, gray water treatment, Agroforestry, preservation of the Cerrado, recovery of areas degraded by agribusiness, etc. Rustic but very comfortable chalets and accommodations. A unique experience that needs to be lived by you. ********IMPORTANT******** We have a shared kitchen complete with a large refrigerator, two stoves, pots, dishes and cutlery, where guests can prepare their meals. Guests are free to bring their favorite food and drinks to cook and enjoy here in our paradise. For those who prefer to eat out, the village of São Jorge is a 15-minute drive away, where there are several options of bars and restaurants, breakfast and markets (we can give suggestions). We only rent the chalets and do not offer services. Breakfast is not included. We have a barbecue for use in the common area. Fire handling (campfire, barbecue, etc.) is not permitted in the chalet area.
